1. Were you injured within the last 3 years?
Usually, you have three years to make a personal injury claim, either from the date of the accident or the date you first became aware of your injury.
This period may be extended in certain situations:
- If the injured person is a child, the time limit starts when they turn 18.
- If they lack mental capacity, the clock doesn't start until capacity is regained.
- In rare cases, a court may allow more time.
Feel free to contact us at 0800 234 6438 for more information.
2. Were you injured in England, Scotland or Wales?
If you're based in Northern Ireland, you can search a solicitor on the website for the Law Society of Northern Ireland.
3. Where did your injury happen?
If you've been injured in a road traffic accident that wasn't your fault, you don't have to use a claims management company or law firm to make a claim.
You may be able to claim for free through:
- The Official Injury Claim Portal (for minor injuries in England or Wales). Find out more and see the Guide to Making a Claim.
- The Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB) (for accidents involving uninsured or untraced drivers, foreign-registered vehicles in the UK, or vehicles from the EEA/Green Card system). Check your eligibility.
